Small Business

It takes a lot of sacrifice to run a business. As a toddler, I got to run around the Gymboree my mother and her sister owned together. It was fun and enriching as a child, but I could not yet understand the work and sacrifice that my mother made to get her business off the ground, the collateral of a business loan or the strain of not making enough profit to pay yourself.

We need to promote and develop our local talent, fuel their enterprising natures and remove some of the risk of “going for it.” Local business is not only essential for our economy, it’s also a key part of creating community. They feed the culture of our neighborhoods and become staples of daily life. At the end of the day, I am interested in building a Las Vegas for locals and a Nevada for Nevadans. Helping small businesses thrive through policy and buying local is central to that mission.
